Privacy note

The short version. I ask for your email address so I can send you letters. I do not sell it, rent it or share it with anyone.

What I collect

Your email address, given when you sign up. If you tell me in a reply that faith is part of how you carry things, I make a note of that so I can send you the reflections that hold it. Nothing else.

I do not ask for your name, your age, where you live or anything about your loss. You are welcome to tell me and many people do, but nothing is required.

Why I collect it

To send you the letters you asked for. That is the only reason.

Who else can see it

The letters are sent using beehiiv, an email platform. Your address is stored on their systems so the letters can reach you. Nobody else has access to it.

If you write to me

I read every reply. They arrive in my own email inbox and stay there.

If I would ever like to share something you have written, I will ask you first, every time. I will never publish your words with your name unless you tell me you want that. You can say no without explaining why.

How long I keep it

For as long as you want the letters. If you unsubscribe, your address is removed.

Your choices

Every letter has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click and the letters stop. Nothing is asked of you and nothing further will arrive.

You can also write to hello@gentlelightletters.com and ask me to delete everything I hold about you. I will, then I will tell you when it is done.

The website

The Gentle Light Letters website records basic visit numbers, so I can see whether anyone is reading. It does not identify you.
